Flipping computers and 'Flu

The last few  Fridays never happened. well, they might have done for you, but in my world they did not. So, if you were wondering why no blogs appeared as usual, that is why.

Last Friday was the culmination of one of those awful periods that occur from time to time, in everyone's life. If it can go wrong, it damned well will and it did. I had a terrible cold all week, almost verging on full-blown influenza. Oh, yes it was. I'm not just being a wimpy kid here. I had the works. High temperature, freezing cold, shivering and the grandaddy of a runny-nosed cold. I know, too much information.

So, for a couple of days, I huddled up in my bed, slugging back the fluids and napping in between catching bits of Radio 4. Then spouse came home with a bottle of whisky and another of green ginger wine. 'This will fix you,' he said and poured me a generous measure of each into a glass. I drank it obediently and a wonderful warmth spread all through me. I don't remember a great deal after that, but I felt a great deal better when I next woke up.

I think my website took umbrage that I had ignored it for so long. By the time I was feeling better and ready to start again, dear old Weebly would not let me in. After visits to the computer shop and many communications with Weebly staff, I think we are up and running again. Life, damned life and computers eh!!!

Got the website fixed, had another dose of the cold and now we're nearly into March and not enough work has been done on Cafe  Paradise 2, only don't tell my editor that or I will get a scolding. There's nothing like a deadline to concentrate the mind. We are due to meet up next week, so guess who's gonna work like fury this week?  There may not be a Friday blog. I think I might be working  non-stop on CP and hopefully have a good body of work to produce next week.  Let's hope the creativity gene is fully switched on.
